The Consumer Loan Underwriter reviews and analyzes Home Equity and consumer loan applications, assesses borrower creditworthiness, and issues decisions in line with TCNB Portfolio policies. This role ensures files meet company lending standards, consistently delivers accurate results, and provides excellent client service to achieve financial goals.

 

This position is located in office at our Operations Center located in West Allis, WI.

Responsibilities

  • Review and underwrite Home Equity and consumer loan applications, ensuring all supporting documentation and property valuations meet TCNB Portfolio policies.
  • Assess borrower creditworthiness, risk, and eligibility for loans of moderate complexity based on employment, credit, financial history, and income type.
  • Apply TCNB underwriting guidelines, issue decisions, and communicate additional documentation needed for final approval.
  • Collaborate with loan processors and other departments to ensure efficient workflow, resolve loan conditions, and achieve organizational objectives.
  • Document and explain reasons for loan approvals or rejections to clients and loan officers.
  • Ensure all information is accurate, compliant, and aligned with company policies.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience as a consumer loan underwriter.
  • Proficient in data entry, analysis, and calculations using Meridian Link, LoanBeam, FIS, and income calculators.
  • Ability to analyze credit reports, income documents, asset accounts, and accurately calculate income, property taxes, insurance and title documentation.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in researching and applying underwriting guidelines and ensuring compliance with mortgage loan disclosures.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Effective written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills; detail oriented.
