The Loan Operations Supervisor is responsible for all daily functions of the Mortgage and Consumer Loan Processing and Closing team by directly supervising staff and providing ongoing and timely mentoring, coaching, feedback, and training.

 

Compensation: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour depending on experience. 

 

This role is not remote and is located at our West Allis, WI Operations Center.

Responsibilities

  • Meet with direct reports to establish individual and team performance goals, to review, coach, monitor performance against goals, discuss operations issues, facilitate collaboration, and review staff training and development requirements.
  • Oversee the activities of the loan processing and closing department including pipeline management. Ensure new loan applications are processed and closed according to established policies and procedures, while complying with required laws and regulations. Detect problems and develop solutions in a proactive manner.  Establish and monitor customer service standards by assisting with operational problem resolution. 
  • Support Mortgage Loan Officers and Retail Lenders with processing and closing inquiries; serve as an escalation point to resolve issues and complex lending situations.
  • Responsible for all mortgage processing and closing functions while maintaining a processing/closing pipeline.
  • Responsible for consumer loan processing and document preparation.
  • Prepare and maintain procedures to support bank policies, regulatory requirements, and operation processes. Analyze processes and procedures and implement improvements.
  • Keep informed on changes to rules/regulations pertaining to FNMA/FHLMC, FHLB, FHA, VA, and Bank products. Stay current with rules/regulations as they pertain to TRID, RESPA, HMDA, Fair Lending practices, Reg B, and all compliance regulations.  Respond to QC and Audit Findings.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a supervisor in mortgage processing or closing. Minimum 5 years’ experience working in mortgage operations.
  • Strong knowledge of mortgage loan products and documentation. Strong leadership and coaching skills; ability to motivate and develop employees.
  • Ability to create a team environment where sales and operations work together.
  • Experience with customer service, decision making, and analyzing information.
  • Ability to work independently, organize, and prioritize to meet deadlines and maintain service levels.
  • Strong organizational, written, and telephone communication skills.
  • Ability to adopt and integrate new technologies easily, experience with technology implementation within the mortgage function a plus.
